The Sentence of the Court of the European Union made public this Thursday has upheld the appeal of Valencia CF against the Decision of the European Commission of 4 July 2016, that it had declared illegal and incompatible with the European regulations on public aid the economic conditions of some guarantees granted by the Valencian Institute of Finance. From the first moment, Valencia CF had already argued, in the strongest defense of the interests of the club, that these guarantees were granted under market conditions. In a long judicial process, Valencia CF had been able to avoid paying such a high amount by obtaining successive precautionary measures to suspend the execution, taking advantage of all possible means of defense.
Valencia CF wants to express its satisfaction with the ruling, who fully agrees with his position, and wishes to publicly thank the Generalitat Valenciana, especially to its president, Ximo Puig, al IVF, in the person of Manuel Illueca, the collaboration maintained with the club throughout this long judicial process before Brussels, and also the support of the Central State Bar, who all of them trusted that the amounts claimed had no justification.
